Project Details

In the FLEMOSI (FLEmish MOdels of SImulation) project, five international partners join forces to build a toolbox of state-of-the-art models to evaluate ex ante policy changes in Flanders. We start from the European EUROMOD-model and extend it with specific Flemish competences.
This models are aimed at three different stakeholders:
Policy makers will be able to assess the budgetary impact of policy measures under design and get an immediate view on the estimated effects on poverty and welfare;
The civil society and the general public can use slimmed-down versions of the models online. In this way the public debate can be fostered and enriched;
The up-to-date FLEMOSI-models will allow the academic community to integrate the often complex Flemish tax-benefit system in advanced theoretical and empirical models.
The project partners of FLEMOSI are the Center for Economic Studies (CES, KULeuven), the Center for Social Policy (CSB, University of Antwerp), the Interface Demography of the VUB, the Center of Research in Public Economics and Population Economics (ULg) and the Microsimulation Unit at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (ISER, University of Essex).
