Description

In the near future, Europe will posses its own navigation system called Galileo. This initiative has been started by the European Space Agency.
In this project, we focus on a more robust and more accurate positioning that is enabled by the combination of both the Galileo and the GPS system. Currently, the signal quality of GPS can be impaired as a result of satellite masking or geometry. The goal of this project is to alleviate all these disadvantages using a processing method that combines the signals that are measured by both systems. The key to this is to include systematic and stochastic error modeling from the beginning of the processing on and to develop a new estimator to minimize the effect of these errors on the final position.
