Description

Detailed Hydrogeological study of the Flemish Region: built-up of the Flemish Groundwater Model (VGM)

As the existing groundwater models are heterogeneous and created for various purposes, no general overview of the groundwater systems in the Flemish Region exists. The current project, part of the built-up of the Flemish Groundwater Model, therefore aims to develop a unique database of hydrogeological parameters for Flanders. For this task, the Flemish Region is divided into nine sub-regions, for which subcontractants currently are performing detailed hydrogeological studies. The Hydrology Department figures as coordinator of the project and is responsible for a seamless connection of the data delivered by the subcontractants. In future stages, theses subregions will also be sued for the built-up of the model.
