Identification in the presence of nonlinear distortions

Project Details


The aim of this project is to model dynamic systems in the presence of nonlinear distortions. Two possible approaches are retained:

- The best linear approximation is identified.
- A nonlinear model is built.

To solve this problem, a number of successive steps will be made.

- How big is the problem? Detection, qualification and quantification of nonlinear distortions
- Understanding of the behaviour of nonlinear distortions: what is their impact on the linear modelling framework.
- Understanding of the linear identification framework: what is the impact of nonlinear distortions on the consistency, efficiency, ...?
- Optimal measurement methods to measure the best linear approximation: is it possible to minimize the measurement time?
- Approximate nonlinear modelling: fast nonlinear identification
