Description
"Wireless sensor and actuator networks" (WSANs) have very specific needs in term of energy consumption and memory usage. In the first phase, we will try to increase the autonomy of WSANs by formulating guidelines to better tune the complete protocol stack, from application layer to MAC/RDC and the physical layers, for different types of network traffic. In the second phase, we will design a new multicast protocol with a focus on energy consumption. An accompanying key distribution protocol needs to ensure the needed end-to-end security. Finally, this multicast protocol will be linked with CoAP resources, in order to (semi-) automatically generate multicast protocols.
