Intravascular fluorescence life-time imaging of the vulnerable plaque

Description

We aim in this project to improve the current intravascular imaging modalities by combining anatomical information with molecular characterization. Hereto, fluorescent tracers will be used directly at different biomarkers of vulnerable plaques. For the detection of the fluorescent signal bound to the atherosclerotic lesions, a new intravascular detector will be designed, which will be combined with an intravascular ultrasound catheter for structural information.
