Description
This project embodies a transformative vision for advancing biowaste valorization, breaking through conventional barriers to deliver sustainable, zero-waste solutions. By integrating innovative approaches across multiple disciplines, the project redefines the potential for biowaste utilization, moving toward a future of cost- effective, energy-efficient, and carbon-neutral biorefinery concepts. Traditional EU technologies for large-scale biowaste valorization, including composting, biogas production, and incineration, are well-established. A few advanced bioprocessing methods have also been demonstrated at laboratory scales. Despite the significant economic and sustainability potential of advanced bioprocessing, the scalability and long-term feasibility of these techniques remain underexplored
