Description
The main goal of the EU programme is to reduce the pollution of the aquatic environment and to achieve progressively the zero-pollution target. This means that the contaminant levels as a whole (not individual compounds but the mixture of them) in water, sediment, organisms of the aquatic system must reduce to a level that is no longer harmful for the ecosystem and humans.
