Description

MI3 consists in developing a light x-ray imaging system similar to a standard C-arm using new flat 2D silicon x-ray detectors that can be used to obtain 3D reconstruction of bones and organs directly in the Operating Room. The system will have an open architecture so that the medical staff will be able to perform interventions directly in the system. Additionally, Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) technology will be integrated in MI3 system (D localization, surgical planning... ) The VUB is responsible for the development of three-dimensional image reconstruction algorithms.
