Next generation prediction of human safety of chemical compounds: liver toxicity as a case study

Project Details

Description

The work relates to an innovative animal-free method to predict human liver toxicity induced by chemical compounds by relying on artificial intelligence and mechanistically-based in vitro modelling. This is a timely topic relevant to any industry producing chemical compounds as well as to the general population. The candidate is thoroughly trained in toxicology and chemical risk assessment. He is prominently active in the international toxicology field, as evidenced by coordinatorship of European research projects, board membership of European toxicology societies and high scientific output. He repeatedly acquired excellent science funding and awards.
