Nonlinear optical detection of cracks and delaminations with speckle pattern interferometric techniques

This project aims at the development of one new, fast and efficient nondestructive method to mainly detect, localize and petentially characterize defects. The method is based on the optical visualization of soundwaves and vibrations using speckle pattern interferometry, which offers a full-field representation of the displacement or deformation field, Speckle pattern interferometry can be used to conduct meassurements both in the time (transient regime) and frequency.
