Organization with field work for the implementation of the Flemish population screening for cervical cancer.

Project Details

Description

Since 2013, the Flemish government wants to organize a Flemish population screening for cervical cancer that is primarily aimed at women who have not been examined recently or who have never been examined allow to monitor the quality of the screening process. The model for the organization of this population screening was based on the advice of August 2008 of the Flemish working group revitalization of cervical cancer and the advice of May 2009 of the same working group 'towards a model for a Flemish population study for cervical cancer'. The central focus is on setting up a call-recall system based on a sound central registration. On the basis of federal legislation, a central cyto-histo-pathology register has now been started in which, inter alia, all cyto-histo-pathology data for cervical examination are collected and processed. A large part of the data needed for setting up a call-recall system for cervical cancer detection and for its quality monitoring will be available in this register.
