Description
Modular battery management system (BMS) is a key issue for the introduction of battery systems in mobile (battery electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles) and stationary applications (smart grid, renewable energy, load leveling, uninterruptible power supply systems. The existing BMS systems are expensive, only suitable for one dedicated application, and lack of flexibility. In this regard, there is a high demand from the Flemish and European companies which are active in the value chain of rechargeable energy storage systems for developing modular solutions. Such modular solution will enable to use the BMS in various applications, whereby the total cost of the battery system can be significantly reduced.
