Quantification of Multicomponent Synergistic Effects in Microporous Crystalline Catalysts

Project Details

Description

During previous work on synzymes (e.g. cytochrome P450 mimic in zeolite y), it was shown that adsorption effects were responsible for the peculiar kinetics in some catalysts. A number of systems were found where multicomponent reactions showed selectivities very different from those expected from single component reaction tests. A number of systems will be investigated by: - batch and continuous reactions - adsorption measurements - molecular modelling. A methodology will be developed to predict the behaviour of reaction systems on the basis of a minimal set of reaction and adsorption measurements.
