Project Details
Description
During the festival, visitors to our booth can learn about common problems that can arise in a home. Several iterative demonstrations will be available to demonstrate the principles and help visitors understand the basics of this technology. Through this interactive experience, visitors will be able to non-destructively detect moisture problems in a wall and determine whether or not there is insulation in the cavity wall...and even how much exactly.
Demonstrations:
1. Detecting moisture problems deep in the wall. A game will be played to discover a wet sponge behind a wall...where is the sponge behind the wall?
2. How on earth do I know if my cavity wall is insulated?
3. The plans for my house indicate that there should be a water pipe in the wall here. But, oh dear, it's not there, so where is it?
4. What about my suspended ceiling? How can I see inside my suspended ceiling without having to open it up?
During the project, we'll be building these new demonstrators, educational materials for visitors, and user interfaces to facilitate interaction with visitors.
