Description
In this project we extend a technique dat was first introduced in collaboration with the group of Prof. David A. B. Miller of the Stanford University, USA. By injecting short intense optical pulses on a low-capacitance detector one can create, in a direct manner, large voltage swing on a CMOS chip. Combined with modelocked laser sources, this makes it possible to inject extremely accurate clock transitions on a chip. This will be applied to the design of small, efficient sample-and-hold test circuits which can be integrated on chipped voor the debugging of analog and time-critical digital signals in integrated CMOS circuitry.
