In today's world of information processing the role of optics and opto-electronics is expected to become increasingly important as the performance of communication, processing, sensing and display technologies is continuously envolving. Making these photonics technologies faster and smaller requires at the same time the introduction of massive parallelism and agressive micro-miniaturization. As a result high-quality microlens arrays with Micro-opto-Electro-Mechanical Structure (MOEMS) technologies becomes very important, especially when we want to integrate these micro-optic elements with opto-electronic or micro-mechanical components resulting in high technological systems with novel functionalities.
