Research on relationship between labour mobility and knowledge transfer.

Promoting temporary and permanent forms of labour mobility between academic institutions and the enterprise sector is high on the political agenda of EU and national public institutions. However, there is very little empirical material available to map out the process of knowledge transfer.Knowledge sociologist Lucia Smit has done - in her recent doctoral research (2010) - a first step to measure the extent to which the operational capability and outflowded doctors apply their skills and knowledge in the labour market.
