The overarching goal of the project is to add important insights to the novel field of data sufficiency, with a special focus on security and privacy, and to develop an upcoming data management strategy where data volumes are minimized as much as possible. This will be achieved through a holistic mapping of the sustainability aspects of data sufficiency strategies through the creation of an assessment framework and strategy typology, while applying a key focus on innovative techniques which are currently gaining traction in industry. Therefore, this project also exploits three different, highly disruptive and innovative techniques to contribute to data sufficiency taking into account privacy and security from a producer perspective, being Trusted Computing Technology, Zero-Knowledge Proofs and data signals for machine learning. As such, this research would be a first of its kind in addressing data sufficiency in a holistic and practice-oriented manner to focus on sustainable, secure and privacy-preserving online services for companies and public-sector governance in the Brussels region.
