RoboCons: Advancing Cooperative Robotics for a Sustainable and Automated Construction Future

Project Details

Description

The European construction sector stands at a pivotal turning point, where traditional methods of subcontracting and project management are increasingly strained by workforce shortages, sustainability targets, and heightened client expectations. Currently, this industry is one of the most energy-intensive sectors in modern society and consumes over 400 million tons of material annually, significantly impacting natural resources, accounting for 50% of landfill waste, and responsible for 23% of air pollution and 40% of drinking water contamination, posing serious health risks . RoboCons main objective is to establish a safe, resource-cost efficient, and environmentally conscious Robot-Human Adaptive Construction Ecosystem (ACE) that is embraced by its workforce and industry stakeholders and tailored to their needs.
