Description
The project aims to study the effect of Clay Tectonic Features (CTFs) in the substrate of offshore wind projects with the main objectives being the stability and geotechnical properties of this clay layer, especially under external forcing. There are indications that fractures are reactivated after they have formed, which means that they can affect the stability of the clay. An important question is therefore how this network of fractures will react when considerable external forces are exerted in the vicinity during the installation and operation of the offshore wind farms (e.g. when driving a monopile).
