Description

Neuropeptides and their receptors are promising neurobiological targets for the future development of antiepileptic drugs. Within this project we want to characterize the anticonvulsant mechanisms of action of several known anticonvulsant peptides, and we want to discover new anticonvulsant and/or antiepileptogenic peptides. To reach these goals we use validated in vivo rodent models for seizures and epilepsy, transgenic mice, microdialysis, EEG monitoring as well as ex vivo immunobiotechnological approaches.
