Social, Economic and Cultural Change in Ethnic Minorities in Belgium: Individual and Contextual Factors.

The project encompasses 4 of the 6 sub-projects introduced for GOA-funding which were retained by the OZR-VUB for VUB-funding subsequent to a local and international evaluation. The 4 projects are:*Analysis of migration histories for 1500Turkish and 1300 Moroccan men interviewed extensively in the 1995-1996 period.*Analysis of education and employment histories: individual and contextual effects, equally based on these two surveys and on the individual (all) census records of 1991.*Analysis of intergenerational social mobility.*Determinants of individual and contextual heterogeneity in social and cultural change, equally based on the 1995-1996 surveys.
