Description
The Brussels Centre for Competition Policy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Faculty of Law of the Universiteit Antwerpen, and Lexxion are pleased to announce the 2026 EStALI Spring Forum. This event, which will take place in Brussels on 21 May 2026, will bring together leading scholars, practitioners, magistrates, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss and analyse contemporary issues and developments in the field of EU State aid policy. The forum features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and mostly paper presentations and discussions. The topics include, but are not limited to: The concepts of ‘State aid’ and/or ‘undertaking’, Services of general economic interest, The future of State aid control, State aid and the search for strategic autonomy, The enforcement system of EU State aid control, The challenges and opportunities brought by the European Green Deal, The green and digital transition, Temporary crisis frameworks, The role of economics in EU State aid policy, Evaluation of State aid measures.
