STEM Project - Cybathlon & ExoGames

For the second time, VUB-BruBotics, the VUB research centre working on a higher quality of life for people through human robotics, will participate in the CYBATHLON, the “Bionic Games”, in October 2024. In addition to the well-known Paralympic Games, where athletes are only allowed to use non-active assistive technologies, the Cybathlon is aimed at pushing new technologies that can help daily life.
In August 2024, a student team from VUB-BruBotics will also participate in another competition, the ASTM ExoGames. Here, student teams try to make the best possible exoskeleton that can support people in performing physically demanding work.
VUB-BruBotics wants to use these opportunities to highlight its research among the youth of Brussels. By organising all kinds of activities in the course of 2024, we want to show the possibilities that a technology such as robotics and AI has to help people. From workshops to open lab days and participation in events, by focusing on a wide variety of events we want to achieve maximum impact on Brussels youth and the general public.
