Project Details
Description
Economical and energetical feasible alternatives for the recuperation of CO2 from fluegases from thermal powerplants will be investigated. The possibility of using pure oxygen instead of air in the combustion process will be studied, what will lead to substancially lower gasflowrates to be treated, and to a restricted NOX formation. The fluegases no longer contain a nitrogen-balast, what gives the possibility of using more efficient gas-cleaning methods with a lower energyconsumption and a higher C02-recuperation efficiency. For this process, membrane techniques, as well as selective refrigeration of the C02 are possible candidates.
