Project Details
Description
The aim of the present project is to improve the PET technology by introducing new scintillator materials, new photodetectors, digital signal processing and better design methods. This new technology will be developed and applied in the design of a prototype small animal PET scanner with improved resolution and sensitivity compared to present commercial systems. It will also be used in a prototype dedicated PET scanner for mammography (PEM scanner).
