Description
The projhect focuses on the exploration of the power of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Invertory -2- Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF) in depression research. The MMPI-2-RF , wich is a shorter and restructured version of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2), consists of 338 items and contains restructured clinical (RC) scales, renewed validity scales, three higher order factors, specific problem scales and PSY-5-r scales. In the first research part, the scales of the MMPI-2-RF will be validated within a Flemisch population. More specifically, we investigate the degree to which the restructured clinical depression scale
(RC 2) measures a unidimensional factor and if the specific -internalizing- problem scales represent distinct
constructs. We examine the relative precision of measurement far different levels of depression. In the
second research part, we focus on the differential diagnosis between chronic and acute depressive patients.
It's known that the majority of depressions have a long-term nature and treatment should be different for
various forms of psychopathology. Scale 2, depression, was specifically developed in order to identify clinical
depression. The purpose of this study is to compare the MMPI-2 and the MMPI-2-RF in terms of
discriminative and predictive power.
