The future CMS tracker : Ensuring maximal detector performance and readiness.

Project Details

Description

With this research project, I aim at building upon and taking full
advantage of the Belgian commitment to the CMS tracker phase-2
upgrade.
Through a forefront role in the quality assurance of upgraded
detector modules, both at the Belgian production centre level and at
the scale of the collaboration, the in depth studies of multiple
modules simultaneously read-out in particle beams, the development
of a cosmic bench leading the way to scaling up the project and the
development of full-detector commissioning and calibration
procedures, I will be ensuring that the best possible detector
performance and readiness are reached when the upgraded
accelerator is turned on in a little over five years from now..
