The Just War Tradition and the Georgian-Abkhaz Conflict

Project Details

Description

There has been in recent years an increased interest for the Just War
tradition. Contrary to pacifism, the just war tradition does not exclude
the use of military force but is developing a series of normative
principles which could justify the use of such a force. This research is
focusing on the Georgian-Abkhaz war of 1992-93. To which extent can the
traditional just war criteria be applied to this conflict?
