The role of DNA-damage -repair and mismatch-repair systems in interspecies gene exchange and in the evolution of plant species.

Project Details

The purpose of the investigation is to study the role of DNA-repair systems during the exchange of genetic information between species of plants and the evolution of these species. The objectives of this project are therefore; studying the function of the genes, related to MMR; proving that the MMR-system is related to the (not) homologous recombination in plants, exposed and not exposed to genotoxical stress; with this attached, obtaining essential kwowledge to adjust methodologies for (para)sexual hybridisation and thus aiming at the eventual goal.
