Tifonics. Study of dry imaging systems using electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques.

    Project Details

    Description

    This project is situated in the framework of an IWT project between Agfa
    Gevaert and different university research groups.
    The subject of investigation is dry imaging technology, where heat is used
    for the development of photographic image instead of chemical processing.
    Dry processes offer an ecological advantage and are more easy in use.
    At META - VUB, the study of the electrochemical reduction of silver
    behenate is performed as a function of temperature.
    Research topics are :
    a) complexation between silver cations and other material's components
    (potentiometric titration);
    b) mechanisms and kinetics of the reduction of silver components (linear
    voltammetry);
    c) interactions between silver and other system's components (Raman
    spectroscopy).
