Project Details
Description
The aim of the proposed project is to evaluate SFC for two kind of applications, i.e. for the separation of chiral molecules and for the development of fingerprint chromatograms.
For chiral separations, recently commercialized chiral stationary phases will be evalauted for their appicability in SFC, and their generic enantioselectivity will be tested.
For fingerprint development, SFC will be used to develop chromatographic fingerprints of herbal extracts. Whereas now mostly supercritical extraction methods are used in sample preparation steps in this field, we will try to use SFC as analytical technique to develop fast fingerprints, which can be used afterwards to model a given activity by means of chemometric techniques.
