Values and norms in sport: Olympism in the Flemish society.

Project Details

Description

The norms behind the Olympic Movement (Olympism of Coubertin) are: solidarity, peace, non-discrimination and equal opportunities for all. The IOC is promoting this philosophy. The Coubertin saw in the international sport a possibility for peace and understanding and a possibility for education of the youth. By means of sport these values are transmitted to the society at large. In this research project we will investigate the difference in opinion regarding Olympism between the Olympic Movement and "common" people.
