Introduction to the special Focus-section of Rechtsgeschichte, the journal of the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt, Germany. I co-edited this section, and wrote the introduction myself, but included the co-organizers of the 2019 AYLH-conference as authors.
