Abstract
When expanding public Charging Infrastructure (CI) for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in a city, urban planners are faced with the decision of either installing new charging stations in the proximity of existing high-demand stations (i.e., data-driven), or to install stations at new sites where no existing CI is present (i.e. coverage-driven). In this study we suggest a novel optimization model that optimizes for both approaches, allowing to analyze their trade-offs.
