Abstract
Background: Understanding patient journeys across healthcare services is essential for improving quality of care and efficiency. Yet, many existing tools only partially capture the complexity of these pathways.
Objective: This study introduces an interactive analytical platform designed to provide a more comprehensive understanding of healthcare trajectories by integrating multiple analytical perspectives.
Methods: The platform combines several clustering and analytical techniques to explore patient pathways across time and care settings. It incorporates tools for identifying patterns, deviations, and potential outcome relationships. Users can interactively explore pathway data through customizable visual and statistical interfaces.
Results: In preliminary evaluations with simulated data, the platform successfully revealed distinct patterns in care delivery and variation among patient groups. Exploratory analyses suggested associations between pathway characteristics and outcome differences.
Conclusions: This work presents a flexible framework for studying healthcare pathways in a multidimensional way. The platform facilitates deeper exploration of care processes, supports hypothesis generation, and offers a foundation for future validation using real-world data.
