Abstract

Inflammatory stimuli upregulate system xc- in vivo and in vitro. This is mediated by increased transcription of xCT, the specific subunit of system xc-. Counterintuitively, NFκB might rather represent an inhibitory feedback loop in the inflammatory induction of system xc-downstream of inflammatory pathways
