Career guidance in a global world

Abstract

The present situation of globalisation is the result of a long process of changes in society and the world of business. Globalisation has far-reaching consequences for society as a whole. There are doubtless many benefits, but there are also a number of unexpected consequences. Some of these consequences relate to the clash of cultures and have a major impact on individuals and their careers. The need for career guidance and new approaches in guidance are obvious. A holistic person-centred guidance model and a one-stop-shop model may serve as a heuristic framework for designing new paths to career guidance in a globalised world.
