Abstract

In May 2004, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel chose a new e-learning platform, Dokeos. This decision was the result of a comprehensive evaluation project of different e-learning platforms, to re-evaluate the choice for Blackboard, made in 2001: or why and how we made the decision to change from a closed source and commercial application to an open source e-learning platform.
