Abstract

Posterior capsular rupture is the most common serious complication in lens surgery. With appropriate management however, posterior capsular rupture is not necessarily a contradiction to a successful lens surgery and a good result for the patient can still be achieved. However, if the surgeon does not know enough about the necessary maneuvers in management of this complication, missteps can lead to considerable problems for the eye.
