Abstract

This piece for violin and live electronics uses several algorithms developed for my PhD: value-changes applied to the numbers obtained by an image-synthesizer scanning a gradual morph between three pictures I took during my stay at Visby, harmonic-rhythm-maker, metrical-morpher, shifting-pattern-maker and melodical-sentence-maker. On top of these, it adds a new algorithm derived from my score analysis project, classifying real-time analyzed sounds from the live performing violinist by timbre, based on the Euclidian distance between statistical values derived from a wavelet analysis of sounds of unequal lengths
