Abstract

This thesis work describes the study and design of a powered trans-tibial prosthesis. The prosthesis design was focused on the storage of energy in an elastic element during part of the gait cycle to reduce the power output peak of the motor. The purpose of this study was to reduce the size and the weight of the motor and the whole prosthesis.
