Abstract

In the area of sustainable mobility, Electric vehicles are considered to be one of the better alternatives. Even though electric vehicles have no tail-pipe emissions, they have a considerable amount of emissions in their life cycle. This Life cycle emissions changes according to the mix of electricity that is used in the vehicle. Hence, It is important to know the real time energy consumption and emission performance of the vehicles to assess the sustainability of electric vehicles. This task aims at analyzing the energy consumption of the different vehicles from the test fleet on a Life cycle well-to-wheel (WTW) perspective, in Belgian context. Furthermore, the LCA will also include the production of vehicles from a cradle-to-grave perspective, which includes the batteries, raw materials, manufacturing and influence of recycling of materials.
