Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in Metamaterials

Abstract

We present two metamaterial designs exhibiting spectral features similar to electromagnetically induced transparency in their electric and magnetic response, respectively. These metamaterials combine low absorption with the high group velocity required for slow-light applications.
