Abstract

The Elementary Process Theory (EPT) has fairly recently been introduced axiomatically as a set of well-formed formulas, expressed in a new formal language for physics, together with a four-dimensionalistic physical interpretation in terms of phase quanta. In the meantime it has become clear, however, that it is a problem to get a grasp of the EPT due to the abstractness of the formalism and the four-dimensionalistic nature of its physical interpretation. The purpose of this paper is to present a new formalism and a new four-dimensionalistic interpretation in terms of systems theory, which is much easier to grasp. We show that the new formulation of the EPT is equivalent to the previous one by specifying a translation between the constants of the formalisms.
