Abstract

This conceptual contribution article, directed by a bibliographic research, aims to reflect and critically observe some impacts and transformations that Artificial Intelligence (AI), supported by algorithmic machine learning systems, has been operating in sociocultural relations and processes in contemporary Brazil. In this sense, it is also intended to explain and outline the concept of responsible AI (ARI), highlighting the key role of social participation in the debates and processes of regulatory constructions, which are encompassing the development, application, and social uses of AI neotechnologies. As a result, an informative framework (theoretical and technical) is shared that signals and discusses, in a critical and interdisciplinary way, some points of attention and recommendations on the expressions of AI in Brazil that can inform and support future interventions and research on the themes in focus.
