Abstract

In this work, a novel approach based on the application of dual ORP-EIS is proposed to identify the lateral water diffusion in intact coated metals from the area exposed to the electrolyte to the adjacent non-exposed area. As such, the electrochemical response of the exposed area and non-exposed area with a certain distance from the exposed area is collected simultaneously using a dual front-end (analog potentiostat). Employing this approach, the lateral water diffusion in polyethylene glycol diacrylate coated steel panels within the initial hours after immersion is monitored.
