Abstract

This contribution takes a closer look into the EU Regulation 1227/2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT) in order to assess how it aims at ensuring a better functioning integrated electricity market and effectively enhances market integrity and transparency of wholesale electricity transactions. It specifically examines the scope of REMIT, the provisions on insider dealing and market manipulation and transparency.
