Abstract
On the notion of freedom in French prose of the 20th century: we observe the works of Echenoz, Michon, Ernaux and others. Most authors show a decreasing interest for the notion of individual choice. They urge the reader to take fatalism and acceptance into consideration on his quest towards the human condition.
